An ongoing battle for recognition — and money — is reportedly underway among the more than dozen super PACS established to support GOP presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Among the 15 big-money political action committees identified by the Center for Responsive Politics is Great America PAC, co-chaired by veteran GOP operative Ed Rollins, which in a recent fundraising email touted itself as "the only reputable super PAC backing Mr. Trump," Time reports.

Others include the Committee for American Sovereignty, which has vowed to raise $20 million for Trump, while Patriots for Trump and Committee to Restore America's Greatness, have each raised six figures in support, the listing from the Center for Responsive Politics shows.

Many of the groups have raised nothing at all, and controversy has swirled around Great America PAC, which says it has spent more than $2 million on behalf of Trump so far, Time reports.

The super PAC has been blasted by longtime Trump ally Roger Stone as a "fraud."

And one of its strategists, veteran GOP operative Jesse Benton, was recently found guilty of public corruption in Iowa in connection with a campaign finance scandal.

Trump's campaign previously "disavowed this and all PACs" and said it had sent a cease-and-desist order to Great America PAC, The New York Times has reported.

GOP megadonor and casino tycoon Sheldon Adelson is aiming to form the latest super PAC in the pro-Trump pack, with an expected total of more than $100 million, Time reports.

Trump, who eschewed funding throughout his primary fight, has now agreed to seek outside money for his likely general election fight, but the array of super PACs "has left Republican donors leery and confused," Time reports.
