The National Rifle Association announced Friday that President Donald Trump will speak at its annual leadership forum on April 28 in Atlanta.
As a candidate, Trump often spoke of his commitment to gun rights, and his son, Donald Trump, Jr., is an avid outdoorsman who urged gun owners to support his father's bid for the White House. The NRA endorsed Trump for president.
According to the NRA's website, Trump's secretary of the interior, Ryan Zinke, is also expected to speak at the conference, as are Republican leaders including Florida Gov. Rick Scott and Sens. Ted Cruz, Luther Strange, David Perdue and Rob Portman.
Trump also addressed the forum last year, when he called for "getting rid of gun-free zones."
