President Donald Trump continued his Twitter attacks on the media Saturday, slamming The Washington Post on its Friday report that Attorney General Jeff Sessions threatened to quit last week if the president fired his embattled No. 2, Rod Rosenstein.

"Just more fake and disgusting news to create ill will," Trump said in his post:

The Post disclosed that Sessions told White House counsel Donald McGahn of his position in a telephone call last weekend.

However, "another person familiar with the exchange said Sessions did not intend to threaten the White House but rather wanted to convey the untenable position that Rosenstein's firing would put him in," the Post reported.

President Trump also ripped The New York Times and White House correspondent Maggie Haberman over its report, also on Friday, that longtime personal attorney Michael Cohen might "flip" and cooperate with federal prosecutors if faced with criminal charges and possible prison time.
