President Donald Trump touted the "many ideas" — some better than others — that came out of Wednesday's bipartisan school safety powwow at the White House, predicting that "a bill should emerge" as a result.

Trump hosted the wide-ranging session with Republicans and Democrats on Wednesday, promising to ban bump stocks by executive order, freeing up lawmakers to focus on other aspects of school safety and/or gun restrictions.

Trump repeatedly professed his respect for NRA while also saying that some lawmakers in the room are "petrified of the NRA."

The NRA wants "to do what's right. They're going to do what's right. I really believe that," Trump told the group.

For its part, the NRA was less impressed with Wednesday's gathering, saying it was "great TV" but "bad policy."
