Former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is touting Donald Trump’s endorsement of her bid to become Arkansas governor.
Sanders, who had served as Trump’s press secretary, included Trump’s endorsement on her Twitter account late Monday. In his statement, the former president called her a “warrior who will always fight for the people of Arkansas.
“Sarah is strong on Borders, tough on Crime, and fully supports the Second Amendment and our great law enforcement officers,” Trump said. “She loves our Military and Veterans – and her home state of Arkansas. Sarah will be a GREAT Governor, and she has by Complete and Total Endorsement.”
And she tweeted: “Thank you President Trump for your endorsement and for always believing in me. As governor I will defend our freedom and lead with heart.”
Sanders left the White House in 2019 and backed Trump’s bid for reelection in November. She faces a potential crowded race that could test the former president's hold on the Republican Party as it regroups.
