President Donald Trump Wednesday morning dismissed arguments about whether his executive order blocking refugees and travelers from seven predominantly Muslim nations from entering the U.S. is a "ban."
"Call it what you want, it is about keeping bad people (with bad intentions) out of country!" Trump wrote on Twitter.
Trump's tweet appears to undercut repeated efforts Tuesday by White House spokesman Sean Spicer to steer the discussion away from calling it a ban.
Trump has repeatedly used the term in referring to his order. On Monday, he tweeted an explanation of his strategy for keeping the "ban" under wraps until the last minute.
In a White House news conference Tuesday, Spicer blamed the media for referring to it as a "Muslim ban" or a "travel ban."
"It's not a Muslim ban. It's not a travel ban,” Spicer told reporters. "It's a vetting system to keep America safe."
