Trump Slams Media Over 'The Big Lie'

Former President Donald Trump on Thursday continued to accuse Democrats, the media, and technology companies of "doing everything they can to perpetuate the term 'The Big Lie'" about his claims of election fraud in the 2020 presidential race and repeated his claim that the election was "corrupt."

In a statement on his website, Trump claimed that "The Fake News Media, working in close conjunction with Big Tech and the Radical Left Democrats, is doing everything they can to perpetuate the term 'The Big Lie' when speaking of 2020 Presidential Election Fraud."

He went on to claim, "They are right in that the 2020 Presidential Election was a Big Lie, but not in the way they mean. The 2020 Election, which didn't even have Legislative approvals from many States (which is required under the U.S. Constitution), and was also otherwise corrupt, was indeed The Big Lie. So when they try to sell the American people the term The Big Lie, which they do in unison and coordination, think of it instead as the greatest Fraud in the history of our Country! An even greater Hoax than Russia, Russia, Russia, Mueller, Mueller, Mueller, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, or any of the other many scams the Democrats pulled!"

This statement echoes his previous claim that "The Fraudulent Presidential Election of 2020 will be, from this day forth, known as THE BIG LIE!"

This claim was refuted by House Republican Conference Leader Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., on Monday, who tweeted: "The 2020 presidential election was not stolen. Anyone who claims it was is spreading THE BIG LIE, turning their back on the rule of law, and poisoning our democratic system."

Trump has said that the 2020 election is a "disgrace to our country," adding, "at 10:30 in the evening, everyone thought the election was over and that we had won. All of a sudden, late in the night, they closed up the tabulation centers and they came out with new numbers. This election is a disgrace to our country. And the whole world knows it and they're watching."

He previously said in a statement to Newsmax: "The radical left Democrat Party has gone absolutely insane in fighting the forensic audit of the 2020 presidential election Scam right now taking place in the Great State of Arizona. They sent a team of over 100 lawyers to try and stop it because they know what the result of the Arizona Senate sponsored audit will be — and it won't be good for the Dems."
