Donald Trump has spent much time on the campaign trail criticizing President Barack Obama, but the presumptive Republican nominee is considering emulating the president by making his acceptance speech at a large stadium.

CNN reports that the real estate mogul wants to make the Republican National Convention as exciting as possible, and one way to do that would be to hold have a special venue for his speech on the final day of the event.

The convention is scheduled to be held at Cleveland's 20,000-seat Quicken Loans Arena basketball stadium, but Trump is considering the 73,000 seat First Energy Field football stadium for his address.

In 2008, Obama gave his acceptance speech before some 80,000 people at Denver's Invesco Field, a move that was criticized by the Republican Party as exaggerated.

Trump has reportedly talked about shaking up the convention by not going by the set formula that has been established over the years and which he considers boring and old-fashioned.

He is considering, for example, making speeches each night of the get-together, rather than just one speech on the final night, and naming cabinet posts at the event to increase the convention's newsworthiness.
