President Donald Trump on Tuesday stepped up the pressure on Georgia’s GOP Gov. Brian Kemp to “do something” to bypass state election officials and uncover a “gold mine” of fraud.

Kemp’s office promptly countered he’s barred by state law from “interfering in elections.”

"You allowed your state to be scammed," Trump raged in a morning tweet. "We must check signatures and count signed envelopes against ballots. Then call off election. It won’t be needed. We will all WIN!"

On Monday, Trump also asserted Kemp could do more to change the outcome of the race in Georgia.

"Why won't Governor @BrianKempGA, the hapless Governor of Georgia, use his emergency powers, which can be easily done, to overrule his obstinate Secretary of State, and do a match of signatures on envelopes," he tweeted. "It will be a 'goldmine' of fraud, and we will easily WIN the state."

The president added that Kemp should “quickly check the number of envelopes versus the number of ballots.”

“You may just find that there are many more ballots than there are envelopes,” Trump wrote. “So simple, and so easy to do. Georgia Republicans are angry, all Republicans are angry.”

“Get it done!” Trump urged.

In a statement to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Kemp spokesman Cody Hall scoffed at the suggestions.

“Georgia law prohibits the governor from interfering in elections,” the spokesman stated.

“The secretary of state, who is an elected constitutional officer, has oversight over elections that cannot be overridden by executive order. As the governor has said repeatedly, he will continue to follow the law and encourage the secretary of state to take reasonable steps — including a sample audit of signatures — to restore trust and address serious issues that have been raised.”

The president’s pressure comes in the wake of Georgia certifying Joe Biden’s win in the state, the first Democrat to do so since 1992.

A recount there is expected to be completed this week.
