President Donald Trump's oldest son said Tuesday he's not surprised that Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee had wrapped up the committee's investigation and found there was no collusion with Russia, as he's "known this all along."
"This is something that we have dealt with for two years," Donald Trump Jr. told Fox News "Fox & Friends."
"What I really want to know is how much money, time, and resources were spent on this witch hunt by the Democrats, simply because they couldn't believe that Donald Trump won. That's what it is."
However, he said, Democrats will "never" give up the push to prove collusion, "because they need it."
"It's their only talking point for 2018," Trump Jr. said. "Just like the media needed it, they went all in with this crazy notion."
The one good thing that was found was that the Democratic National Committee was "colluding with the seventh floor, with the FBI. The lawyers at the top, not the boots on the ground guys. They are doing all the shady stuff. That stuff is disgusting."
Trump Jr., though, said he was impressed with the Senate Intelligence Committee's questioning.
"You walk out of a room after almost 10 hours of interviewing, you didn't know who was on whose side," he said. "Those guys actually seemed like they were trying to get to facts. When I look at House Intel and other groups, it was literally looking for a sound bite."
He complained that with the House Intelligence Committee, there were too many leaks from hearings that were supposed to be confidential.
"I mean, the Adam Schiffs of the world, presumably him, because he has never met a camera he didn't love," Trump Jr. continued, complaining about the California Democratic representative.
"It's a good thing he is not that good on TV. He is out there telling these people this. The follow weekend they're giving misleading leaking information and crossing dates to try to make it seem and perpetuate the scandal that was nonsense."
Trump Jr. also discussed the controversial meeting he'd held at Trump Tower before the election with Russians who had claimed they had information on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
"It was the biggest waste of time in my life," he said. "I don't remember the meeting, that's the problem. When you are on a campaign trail like that so much going on. I didn't even think about it."
Trump Jr. also claimed he had "no obligation" to disclose the meeting, as he's not in government.
"I didn't even think about it," he said. To me, it wouldn't even have occurred to do that. So, yes, did I this but the other side when they're paying, and this is all verified at this point. They are paying foreign operatives for information from Russia, that's okay. That's different."
Trump Jr. said he took the meeting from someone "that we had done business with years before, and I said, 'okay, fine, I will listen to you.' I thought that was covered under the First Amendment."
Meanwhile, the president is heading to California on Tuesday to look at prototypes for a border wall, and his son said once he gets matters moving, the wall will go up fast.
"But you're going to have to go through all of those protests ... through the obstructions on the other side, and they will throw up every roadblock," Trump Jr. said.
