House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is "incompetent," President Donald Trump declared on Tuesday, striking back after she raised questions about his achievements during a weekend news interview.
"I have been watching Nancy's statements," the president told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program. "I think she is incompetent, actually, if you look what's going on with the Democrats and the party. It's getting smaller and smaller."
Trump said he does not like to see the Democrats' influence waning, because he likes a two party system.
"We are soon going to have a one party system," Trump said. "I actually think a two party system is healthy and good."
But as for Pelosi, "she has done a terrible job," said Trump. "She is not a good spokesman. There are those who say I have done more than anybody [in] any 100 days."
On Sunday, Pelosi told ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos that Trump will have no positive achievements to talk about during his address to a joint session of Congress Tuesday.
"He has nothing to show for it but fear in every way," Pelosi said. "Fear, to people who are immigrants; fear, to people who are concerned about the greed on Wall Street, [fear to] taking us back to where we were."
Pelosi also said she doesn't believe Republicans will be able to repeal and replace Obamacare, as they do not have enough votes.
"They've been baying at the moon that they had a better idea," Pelosi said. "They've come up with nothing. They don't have a replacement. What they have put forth and outlined will cost more to consumers. It will cover fewer people. It will give tax breaks to the wealthiest people."
On Tuesday, Trump pointed to the "billions and billions of dollars" he has already saved.
"I brought Ford back," said Trump. "It was a massive plant. I'm bringing Fiat in. Have you been reading about them on a daily basis? They are awful pouring back into our country."
And when his plan healthcare reform is added in, "as opposed to Obamacare which is a total mess, if you add the tax cuts that we're going to be doing as soon as we finish healthcare that will come out very soon the big tax cuts for business and for people," said Trump, "for the middle class, tremendous cuts and for everybody, I think that, you know, I think I have done just about more than anybody in the first four weeks."
