Donald Trump could "juice up" the Republican National Convention this July by delivering a speech every night from a different city, an adviser says.
In an interview with
Bloomberg's Masters in Politics podcast, senior adviser Barry Bennett says "We need to adjust the format" of the event being held this year in Cleveland – including the traditional acceptance speech at the end of the convention.
The remarks begin at the
12:18-minute mark.
"I think when it comes to the program a lot of us feel that we could juice up the format just a little," Bennett tells the podcast moderators.
"More entertaining, more interesting. I don't know why the candidate only speaks on acceptance night, why shouldn't he speak every night from a different city?
"How come we are not doing broadcasts on Facebook or Google, why are we just relying on 45 minutes of network television time?"
The convention has become a flashpoint in a rift between the presumptive nominee and establishment Republicans who've said they won't attend the event, including 2012 GOP nominee
Mitt Romney, as well as Jeb Bush, former presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush, and Arizona Sen. John McCain.
