A former Trump Organization executive said it's not plausible that Donald Trump did not know about the meeting between campaign officials and a Russian lawyer over information about Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
“Impossible, in my opinion, based on my experience working with Trump and everybody that worked for Trump. Something major, something newsworthy, something press-worthy would always go before Trump. Always,” Barbara Res told CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360" on Monday.
“He wanted to be on top of things,” Res said, adding that Donald Trump Jr. would have been likely to tell Trump in advance of the meeting.
“Donald Jr. would definitely have gone to his father. I think he would have said in advance, ‘Look what I got. We’re going to get, you know, something on Hillary.’ I think he would have been sort of bragging about it, ‘Look what I did,’ that kind of thing,” Res said.
Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen reportedly made the claim that Trump knew about the meeting in advance, according to CNN.
