Will pollsters be able accurately predict the outcome of a Donald Trump-Hillary Clinton match-up in the presidential race?

It's doubtful, The Hill reports.

That's because Trump and Clinton both have "high unfavorable ratings" which could affect whether the polls configured the right way.

Jennifer Dineen, director of the UConn/Hartford Courant poll, told The Hill's Niall Stanage:
"We are looking at…the most disliked candidates in a single election. You're not determining who's supporting a candidate, you are trying to determine how strongly someone opposes a candidate.

"People's feelings on [Trump] are pretty clear, but we are not just trying to estimate support for Secretary Clinton, we are estimating opposition to him."

Karlyn Bowman, a polling expert with the conservative American Enterprise Institute, told the political news website that a Trump-Clinton match-up "could just be throwing out some of the old rules" of polling.
