In one of the most bizarre political ads ever produced, California State Assemblyman Tim Donnelly stands next to actress Maria Conchita Alonso, who clutches a Chihuahua as she angrily chews him out over his love of hunting.
"I think Jerry Brown's ban on lead ammunition is a cowardly attack on the Second Amendment. It is the first step to banning hunting in our state," says Donnelly, a Republican, who wants to replace Brown, a Democrat, as governor.
That doesn't sit well with the Cuban-born bombshell, who earlier in the spot had gushed over Donnelly's policies and his manliness, and launches into a tirade.

"I do not like hunting! I hate that animals suffer, I am their voice! I love them, I protect them, I would give my life for them!" Alonso rants as she clutches her pet Chihuahua named Tequila.
"No, uh-uh, we have to talk afterward about this!" she continues.
After chastising Donnelly, Alonso calms down, and in a sexy voice, coos: "I was just saying that you have really great hair."
"Thanks," Donnelly, a Georgia native who represents California's 33rd District, sheepishly replies.
The ad, posted on YouTube, is bilingual. Donnelly speaks English and Alonso — whose films include "The Lords of Salem" and "Moscow on the Hudson" — speaks English and Spanish, which is subtitled.
Among Donnelly's vows to voters in the ad: He wants to put "a gun in every Californian's gun safe."
ThinkProgress.org says Alonso's appearance "is likely an attempt to appeal to Latino voters."
But, the website adds, "he's probably facing an uphill climb with that particular constituency. Donnelly is a founder of the Minuteman movement in California, a group of anti-immigrant vigilantes."
Donnelly was once featured on "The Colbert Report," where he talked about hiring "illegal aliens" to build a border fence at the California-Mexico border.
Last year, a delegation of sheriffs tried to convince Brown to veto gun bills that would ban semiautomatic rifles with detachable magazines and lead ammunition for hunting, according to The New York Times.
