Supreme Court nominee Neil Goruch will be confirmed within 60 days – with or without a Senate filibuster, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz predicted Sunday.
In an interview on CBS News' "Face The Nation," Cruz said he figures there's a "50/50" percent chance of a filibuster.
"They don't have any good arguments against Gorsuch, but they're furious that we're going to have a conservative nominated and confirmed."
Cruz said of Democrats.
"I'll tell you this, Judge Gorsuch will be confirmed," he said; confirmation hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee begin Monday. "He will either get 60 votes and be confirmed or otherwise, whatever procedural steps are necessary."
He added that he believes "within a month or two" Gorsuch will be an "associate justice on the Supreme Court."
Cruz also warned that voters won't forgive Republicans if an Obamacare replacement doesn't lower their insurance premiums.
"I've got to tell you, if Republicans hold a big press conference and pat ourselves on the back that we've repealed Obamacare and everyone's premiums keep going up, people will be ready to tar and feather us in the streets, and quite rightly," Cruz said.
But, he added, he "can't vote for any bill that keeps premiums rising."
