T. Boone Pickens to Hillary: Get Rid of Fossil Fuels and You Stop the World

("The Cats Roundtable"/AM 970 The Answer)

By    |   Sunday, 08 May 2016 07:11 PM EDT

Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton's declarations that she would significantly reduce the use of coal and all fossil fuels is a non-starter, energy magnate T. Boone Pickens insists.

Speaking on "The Cats Roundtable" Sunday radio show on AM 970 New York hosted by John Catsimatidis, Pickens said the entire idea of doing so is completely unrealistic. "I'm amused when ... Hillary Clinton says 'We are going to get rid of coal; we are going to get rid of all fossil fuels ... What are you going to replace it with," Pickens asked. "She has no idea … You get rid of fossil fuels, and you’ll stop the world [as 70 percent of the world's current oil supply goes to transportation]. That’s the only thing that’s going to move that 18-wheeler is diesel or natural gas.”

Pickens said that if the next president asked his advice, the top priority should be to make a North American energy alliance, which would significantly decrease the significance of any threats from OPEC and other foreign oil giants to hold hostage the energy needs of Americans.
