After President Donald Trump accused Democrats Monday of altering the transcripts of witnesses from the impeachment inquiry, the lawyer for Ambassador Gordon Sondland said his client's transcript had not been changed, The Daily Beast reported.

"No reason to believe that the transcript was altered, and the clarification was released in the form that it was submitted," said Robert Luskin, Sondland's attorney.

Thousands of pages of testimony have already been released and neither witnesses nor congressmen have up to now said there is anything incorrect in the contents of the depositions, according to The Daily Beast.

Sondland testified last month, but last week he updated his testimony to say he suspected the Trump administration withheld military aid from Ukraine to pressure the country into probing a company with ties to former Vice President Joe Biden.

However, Sondland also said that nobody in the Trump administration told him about a quid pro quo, and he does not definitively know why the president temporarily withheld the military aid.

Democrats have pointed to Sondland's testimony as evidence that Trump put his political goals over backing for a key American partner at war with Russian-supported fighters.

Some Republicans, however, have accused Sondland of dishonesty, with Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., suggesting that he may have conspired with Democrats to add the damaging material to his testimony.
