Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.V., said Wednesday that the Republican tax bill will be vindicated next year, "when people start getting their paychecks," The Hill reports.
"Come next year, when people start getting their paychecks, they're going to see the results of this and they're going to realize we came through on what we said we were going to do," the senator said on CNN's "New Day."
"This was something President [Donald] Trump and Republicans said we would do," she said.
Her comments come only hours after the Senate passed the tax bill very early Wednesday morning. President Trump is expected to sign the legislation later the same day.
"I feel very good about what we've done and I think the polls and everything were sort of fallen prey by the rhetoric and some of the confusing numbers that were out there," Capito added.
