Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Tuesday said his knowledge of the probe into Russia's meddling in the 2016 presidential election does not go beyond what he has read in newspapers.
"The intelligence community seems to be united in [acknowleging Russia's meddling in the U.S. election]," Sessions told Sen. Angus King, I-Maine. "But I have to tell you, Sen. King, I know nothing but what I've read in the paper.
"I've never received any details, briefing on how hacking occurred, or how information was alleged to have influenced the campaigns."
The attorney general testified Tuesday before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
