Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr has not received a copy of a classified memo by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes on alleged FBI abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), CNN reported Wednesday.

The cable network cited "three sources familiar with the matter" in its report, which said that Burr's staffers requested a copy of the memo but was denied by Nunes, the California Republican.

FBI and Justice Department have also been denied access to the document, according to CNN.

However, Burr, a North Carolina Republican, declined to comment specifically on the matter, telling CNN that he would not discuss "anything that goes on with what we did or didn't ask for, what we did or didn't get, what we did or didn't conclude.

"It's Devin's memo so you need to ask him what it means," he added. "I sort of don't discuss anything that is part of our investigation, so I'll leave it up to him to describe."

A spokesman for Nunes did not respond to a request for comment, CNN reported.

The network reported that the congressman's document was "based on highly classified intelligence that only a select group of House and Senate lawmakers have accessed."

The Nunes document focuses on the FBI's use of a dossier on Trump and Russia by former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele, alleging that the FISA judge who signed off on the dossier was not given full information about it, including that Democratic sources later paid for it.

Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Lankford, an Intelligence Committee member, told CNN that the panel had not been given access to Nunes' document.

"None of the senators have access to it," Lankford said, responding "right" when asked if the committee had been denied access to the document after its request.

However, Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee are now seeking to release their own FISA memo, CNN reports, charging that the Nunes document is "profoundly misleading" and seeks to discredit the Russia probe headed by special counsel Robert Mueller.
