National security is one of three topics moderator Lester Holt will cover during the first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump – just a week after a pair of terror blasts rattled New York City and New Jersey.
The Commission on Presidential Debates announced Holt will ask the nominees about America's direction, prosperity and security during the 90-minute face-off Sept. 26 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.
According to the announced format, Trump and Clinton will have at least 30 minutes debate time focused just on national security.
The topic of homeland security has become paramount on the campaign trail in the wake of Saturday's terror bombing that injured 29 people in New York City, and a suspected related blast in New Jersey.
A suspect in the blasts was taken into custody Monday.
