Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer said he is not being paid to praise President Donald Trump, despite a claim made by Omarosa Manigault Newman," Mediaite reported.

Newman, who has made numerous claims about the president while promoting her new book, "Unhinged," made the statement in an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press when explaining she was presented with an agreement when she worked as a former aide at the White House, saying the offer wasn't for a "real job."

"They were not offering me a real job. They told me I could work from home, if I even wanted to work. They didn't really care if I showed up," Newman said. "In fact, there are several former employees from the White House who actually signed this agreement, who are all being paid $15,000 for their silence."

When "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd asked if former staffers had been "bought off," she replied "Absolutely," then made the claim Spicer was one of those who had been paid.

"The campaign, the RNC, and America First, which is why Sean Spicer was describing Donald Trump as a 'unicorn jumping over rainbows' … Because he signed this same agreement."

"There's no evidence of anything of the sort," Spicer told the New York Post when asked about Newman's remarks. "What's equally disappointing to me is not only did Chuck Todd give Omarosa a platform, but he failed to challenge her in the most basic ways."

Spicer did reportedly sign an agreement when he joined Trump's America First, but that was after Newman's book was written, the Post reported.
