The policies of the Biden Administration are such a failure that instead of providing security for the United States, border patrol agents are asked to babysit illegal migrants at the nation's crossing points, Rep. Scott Franklin told Newsmax on Wednesday.
"The border policies of this administration has been a disaster since the very beginning," the Florida Republican told Newsmax's "Newsline."
He pointed out that it works "wherever we have the walls that are in place as part of the solution, that is not the entire solution, but a component of it."
Franklin said that "one border security agent can patrol about five miles of border wall, while it takes about five [agents] per mile in areas where there is not a wall."
But the congressman lamented that instead of making use of the obvious advantage of having a border wall, "we are requiring our border patrol agents to babysit illegals at these control points."
Franklin also said the House Oversight Committee's letter informing Hunter Biden that he must appear at his deposition or contempt of Congress proceedings will be initiated.
The congressman said that "we are going to do this by the book" instead of making a public charade of it as Hunter Biden prefers.
"We are going to let the facts come out as they should," Franklin said, insisting that if he doesn't testify as required, he will face charges for not doing so.
Franklin emphasized that House "oversight efforts have systematically yielded fruit ... and that there is plenty of evidence that the president has been lying to the public all along."
He said that "the public deserves to know the truth" and that "the was things are steering right now is not looking good for the president."
