Florida Gov. Rick Scott, whose election over Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson is now official, said Monday the continuing issues surrounding the ballot were "very frustrating," as he had a commanding lead when he announced his victory on Election Night.
"When I announced that Tuesday night we were up 57,000 votes, and they just kept finding ballots," Scott told Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "That's why, you know, I am thankful for a lot of people that brought light to this, to make sure we stopped this. We have got to do everything we can to make sure elections are free and fair."
Scott said he is excited by the win and to go to Washington D.C., where he has a "very specific 10 point plan" that starts with term limits for lawmakers.
He said he's also appreciative of President Donald Trump, as Florida has gotten to get "good things" done in the past two years that were not accomplished through former President Barack Obama, including getting money to stop algae pollution on Lake Okeechobee.
"That was a big win," said Scott. "We stopped offshore drilling, that was a big win. I look forward to working with the president to get things done for our state. I'm excited about being up there. I have learned a lot as governor. I have learned that if you start looking at how do you get a return on every dollar spent, a lot of good things can happen."
He said he also wants to work to keep the economy going, and to keep the military strong, as he is a Navy veteran and his father was in the Army.
