Former Vice President Joe Biden's call to keep Rudy Giuliani off the air waves is only proving President Donald Trump's personal attorney is "landing his punches" on corruption claims, according to political commentator Jeffrey Lord to Newsmax TV.
"Joe Biden has missed his opportunities here, and to be perfectly candid, this new demand that the networks keep Rudy Giuliani off only basically telegraphs that Rudy Giuliani is landing is punches," Lord told Monday's "Newsmax Now."
Lord noted Biden has been basically silent on the allegations of corruption with Ukraine, until his campaign sent a letter to major networks requesting they not give Giuliani air time.
"This is bad stuff, and there's no way around this," Lord added, referring to Hunter Biden's inclusion in a delegation to China for a massively profitable deal.
"Who's kidding who here? The American people are not stupid," Lord added.
In the end, this is all serving the Russians and President Vladimir Putin's attempt to damage Western Democracy and sow discord – something Democrats had intended to curtail but are actually feeding, according to Lord.
"It's always been my thought that Vladimir Putin will do what he can do to stir things up and cause trouble," Lord told host John Bachman. "He'll give a nod to Trump if that helps cause trouble. He'll send people to help Hillary [Clinton] if that's the thing. His objective is to stir trouble inside the United States election and that's it. He's doing it."
