Rudy Giuliani to Newsmax TV: 'Governors Are Enjoying Their Dictatorial Power'

Some governors have embraced their "dictatorial power" a little too much during the coronavirus pandemic, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani told Newsmax TV.

"We got some governors that seem to be enjoying their dictatorial power and don't want to give it up," Giuliani told Thursday's "Greg Kelly Reports."

"I look at the one in Michigan [Gov. Whitmer], oh my God ... the guy in Virginia, that's the one who thinks you can kill babies ... he gave a minister a criminal citation for having a Palm Sunday service," Giuliani said.

The former New York City mayor had slightly less criticism for the current governor of his home state.

"I would prefer less criticism and more cooperation, meaning from Andrew [Cuomo]" Giuliani said.

He also praised President Donald Trump for how well he settled the country during a time of unprecedented crisis.

"For all the criticism which is so unfair, he handled this novel virus ... Three and a half, four months ago, we didn't know what COVID-19 was. We had to figure it out. We had to deal with it. We had to organize it," Giuliani said.
