Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani on Sunday slammed the Democratic Party for taking the Black community's support for granted.

Speaking on "The Cats Roundtable" radio show hosted by John Catsimatidis on WABC 770 AM, Giuliani said “the Black community shouldn't be taken for granted by the Democrat Party. An awful lot of African Americans were at [the Republican National] Convention supporting [President] Donald Trump. And for good reason. He produced more for that community in three years than Joe Biden did in 47.”

Giuliani harshly criticized Democrats for the sharp increase in violence occurring in Democrat-run cities, saying that at “the Democratic convention, for some strange reason, it was almost as if these riots and crime increases weren’t going on in the country.”

He pointed out that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden “said during his acceptance speech, ‘Silence is assent.’ Well, if silence is assent, they were very silent on all the Black Lives Matter and Antifa violent riots. In essence, they're sending [the protesters] a signal that we are OK with this. I think they were OK with it because they thought it was going to hurt Trump.”

Giuliani stressed that "the average American is going to relate a lot better to [the Republican] convention that talks about the greatness of America, and the fact that we have to solve our problems realistically, understanding that we’re not some failed, horrible, awful country, the way the Democrats painted it."

He emphasized that Republicans "have a much stronger message than the Democrats — which is to build up the free-enterprise part of our economy. Not socialism. To support our police, with the recognition that there are a few that have to be disciplined or prosecuted."
