President Donald Trump can institute "extreme-vetting" procedures on immigration amid multiple terror attacks in England and will not even need the Supreme Court to restore his travel ban to do so, Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., said Sunday.
"My view is the president does have certainly the right to put in place extreme vetting," Blunt told "Fox News Sunday" with Chris Wallace to air Sunday afternoon, per The Hill.
"I think you can do that without a travel ban."
Blunt praises the work of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly in protecting American citizens, particularly amid the recent terror attacks in Europe and despite the judicial blocking of President Trump's travel ban, according to The Hill.
"We constantly have to be vigilant," Sen. Blunt told Wallace, per The Hill. "And I think Secretary Kelly is right when he says only because we have been fortunate and worked hard to prevent this have we not had these kind of attacks here."
