Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, on Wednesday blasted a watchdog report accusing him of mistreating his subordinates and engaging in problematic drinking while working as the top White House physician, calling the effort a Democrat-led attempt to “repeat and rehash untrue attacks on my integrity,' reports NBC News.

"I’m proud of the work environment I fostered under three different presidents of both parties; I take my professional responsibility with respect to prescription drug practices seriously; and I flat out reject any allegation that I consumed alcohol while on duty," he said in a statement. "I also categorically deny any implication that I was in any way sexually inappropriate at work, outside of work, or anywhere with any member of my staff or anyone else. That is not me and what is alleged did not happen."

The report, conducted by the Department of Defense inspector general and released Wednesday, says Jackson made “sexual and denigrating” comments about a female subordinate, took prescription-strength sleeping medication that prompted concerns from his colleagues regarding his ability to provide proper care and violated the policy for drinking alcohol while on a presidential trip.

Jackson said the IG “resurrected” old allegations because he refused to “turn my back on President (Donald) Trump.”

Jackson last year withdrew from consideration as Trump’s nominee for secretary of Veterans Affairs over allegations he was “abusive” toward colleagues, was periodically intoxicated and abused prescription pain medications.
