Asked about rumors that he was considering Judge Andrew Napolitano as a running mate in his 2012 presidential campaign, Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, said he was not, but did sing the praises of the Fox Business host.
“I do have to admit . . . I really admire Judge Napolitano,” he said Wednesday on
Fox News. “I think he would be good in any administration. I think he would be grand on the Supreme Court.”
Napolitano is a former judge on the New Jersey Superior Court who now works for Fox as a legal and political analyst.
Paul on Monday insisted to
NBC’s Matt Lauer that he is a viable candidate, citing his winning a straw poll at the New Orleans Republican Leadership Conference, in which front-runner Mitt Romney placed fifth.
“I think people are starting to realize that what I’m talking about is sound,” said Paul. “We’re making great progress.”
