Giuliani: Mueller Probe 'So Tainted They Can't Do Anything'

(Fox News' "America's Newsroom")

Special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the 2016 election is "so tainted they can't do anything with it," President Donald Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday.

"They may not close it themselves, but this is infected with a bias of major proportions from the beginning by [FBI agent] Peter Strzok," the former New York City mayor told Fox News' "America's Newsroom" co-host Bill Hemmer.

"He left behind some of his cohorts. We believe there may be two of the people with similar biases expressed in text presently working on the investigation. How can you trust anything they're doing if that's the case in this investigation?"

Giuliani pointed out it is difficult to decide whether to indict or take other action "or recommend that somebody did something wrong" when there is a completely objective staff, but "when you have guys around you saying 'stop the president, America must be saved, we have to stop him at all costs,' you can't possibly trust that."

He also said he cannot see a court allowing indictments to go forward or a report being issued unless the matter of bias gets solved.

"I said a couple of days ago, before all this came out, we have to investigate the investigators to determine if it's a valid investigation," Giuliani said.

Giuliani told Fox News' Sean Hannity on Tuesday night he believes a report from Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz and his subsequent testimony to Congress marked the "end of Mueller's investigation."

"The president of the United States, my friend, and a great president who's off to a terrific start, is going to be vindicated, but this is a witch hunt with no evidence, and nothing else but a bunch of people who hate him, hate Republicans, hate anything that he stands for, and vowed to get him no matter what," Giuliani told Hannity.

"It's terrible," Giuliani told Hemmer on Wednesday. "I don't think we've seen anything like this before. It took the president, attorney general, and director of the FBI a long time to wake up for it. I'm not sure they completely woke up to it yet."

Giuliani also told Hannity he believes former FBI Director James Comey will be going to jail, and he doubled down on that thought Wednesday.

"[I have] no idea why he hasn't been investigated before," Giuliani said. "He is being investigated now . . . he and [former FBI Deputy Director Andrew] McCabe have contradicted each other. Somebody is lying . . . he is gone as a witness in anything with any credibility."

Giuliani also added it "depends on what they offer" whether Trump will sit to talk with Mueller.

"It depends on what they offer, what they come up with, how narrow the questioning is," he said. "I certainly won't sit down with him with these questions still lingering about whether these people are a kangaroo court and firing squad. Who in his right mind would put their client in front of people like that?"

However, Giuliani said he has not "closed the door" on talking with Mueller, and the president's legal team and Mueller's team have been negotiating.

"[This is a] major stumbling block in this investigation, the investigation of the investigators," Giuliani said. "How many people were infected by it? How much did it affect their determinations? A morning raid of [Paul] Manafort's home, a raid of lawyer's office, [Michael] Cohen, the kind of strange things that were done with the leaks that went on.

"How about the FBI agents who work on this investigation who are receiving gifts and vacations and tickets to ballgames for information? It wasn't just leaking. They were getting money in essence. Things of value. Things that put New York City cops in jail."
