The Republican National Committee is in the middle of a shakeup and is expected to lose three top staffers over the upcoming weeks.

Politico reports that deputy chief data officer Liam O'Rourke, director of political data support Ashley Burns, and director of business intelligence Patrick Stewart will soon depart the RNC. Those exits come on the heels of two new hires and one person leaving the organization.

As Politico notes, the 2018 midterm elections could be challenging for the RNC. Many voters are unhappy with the party's lawmakers and even President Donald Trump, which may lead to losses at the polls.

The RNC recently conducted an internal review at the direction of chair Ronna Romney McDaniel, which led to the shakeup.

It's unclear how Reince Priebus' departure from the White House, where he served as chief of staff, will affect the relationship between the Trump administration and the national party. Priebus chaired the RNC before he joined the White House staff.

Trump's former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said earlier this week he believes Priebus was "ultimately responsible" for many of the leaks that have plagued the White House since Trump took office.

"The president's frustration was probably with the amount of leaking coming from the White House," Lewandowski said.
