Florida gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott has offered high praise for a federal judge who ruled favorably on a challenge to Obamacare filed by Scott’s former Republican primary opponent, Attorney General Bill McCollum.

rick, scott, obamacare, decision“As someone who led the fight against both Obamacare and Hillarycare, I applaud the judge’s decision to send this lawsuit to trial,” Scott said.

“Obamacare is an unconstitutional overreach by the federal government and I’m hopeful that the courts will recognize this and put an end to this travesty.”

Scott also attacked his Democratic rival Alex Sink for her support of the healthcare reform legislation, Sunshine State News reported.

"It’s unfortunate that my opponent supports Obamacare and opposes this lawsuit, but it’s not surprising since she’s an Obama liberal and one of the primary lawyers in the case, Guy Burns, is a supporter of Sink’s campaigns to the tune of $1,500.”

Scott’s campaign got a boost on Friday when the National Rifle Association launched a multimillion-dollar ad campaign aimed at electing pro-gun candidates in Senate, House and gubernatorial races, including Scott.

In the Scott ad, a worker at a gun manufacturing facility says: “With Nancy Pelosi and her crowd in Washington, I feel threatened. If they damage our Second Amendment rights, it could destroy our jobs here.”

A voiceover then states: “Rick Scott will protect jobs and our Second Amendment freedoms.”
