More good news for the GOP on the midterm election front: Republicans are receiving almost five times as much support as Democrats in terms of TV ad spending from third-party groups. Pelosi, Democrats, donations, third partiesHouse Democrats are so worried about it that they had two closed-door meetings in the past week to discuss the situation with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. She vowed to do more.

“I’m saying get out there,” she told a group of Democratic freshmen, a knowledgeable source told Politico. “We need more.”

Echoing the view that more is needed is Rep. Tom Perriello, D-Va., a heavily targeted freshman who told Politico: “It’s frustrating down here because we know if we get our message out, people will agree with us, but when airwaves are flooded like they are, democracy and public debate lose."
