Republicans could enjoy a "wave" election in the 2014 midterms, in large part because Americans are unhappy with not being told the truth about Obamacare, Sen. Rand Paul predicted Friday.
"I sense a wave election coming on," the Kentucky Republican told Fox News' "America's Newsroom." "I think a lot of Americans, whether you're an Independent, Democrat, conservative Democrat, they're unhappy with the president for not being honest about what we were getting with this healthcare change."
Paul, who was attending a meeting of the Republican National Convention in Memphis, said he was going to encourage party members to reach out beyond their usual constituency leading up to the midterm elections.

"I would just say that we have to do more. And, I'll tell them this morning that we have to go places, sort of like what Captain Kirk used to say — We need to boldly go where no Republicans have gone before. So, we need to go to Harlem, East L.A., Berkeley," he said.
The GOP needed to be "bigger, bolder and better, more inclusive," Paul explained. He said if Republicans wanted to win the White House in 2016, they needed to branch out beyond their usual block of voters.
"We have to have a bigger party, a more inclusive party. And, when we do, we're going to be the dominant party again. But, if we do the same thing we've always done, and just say, 'Hey, we're going after the same people,' we're going to get the same result," Paul said.
