Richard Viguerie: GOP Must Nationalize Election to Win

By    |   Thursday, 25 September 2014 03:14 PM EDT

If the Republican party wants to win the Senate in the November midterms, it must nationalize the campaign, says Richard Viguerie, chairman of ConservativeHQ.com.

"Republicans never, literally never, win an election that's not nationalized," Viguerie told J.D. Hayworth and Morgan Thompson on "America's Forum" on Newsmax TV Thursday.

In order to nationalize the upcoming midterm elections, Republicans "must give the voters a tune they can whistle and they can't remember six, eight, 10 things," he explained.

"There are three issues right now that would nationalize this election and cause the Republicans to have a big victory," he said, similar to the "Contract with America — it nationalized the election."

Viguerie recommends that the GOP focuses on "three issues . . . amnesty, national security, and the culture of corruption," such as the "abuse of power that has rifled throughout the Obama administration."

"National security is particularly effective with women," he explained.

"We know how the Democrats have been effective with their false, pseudo-war on women campaign against Republicans," he said.

"The Republicans stress national security — that moves the dial with women voters," he added.
