Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., ripped Republicans to constituents as calling any election loss "illegitimate," which is a sign of "tyranny."

"It's quite tragic and it's very sad that it's devolved to the point that any election they lose is illegitimate, and any election they win means they can govern with impunity," Ocasio-Cortez at a weekend town hall, The Washington Free Beacon reports.

"That is almost the definition or one of the hallmark aspects of authoritarianism," she said.

However, the Free Beacon pointed out that Democrats have attributed gubernatorial losses in Florida and Georgia — and Hillary Clinton's 2016 defeat to Republican Donald Trump — to fraud and malfeasance.

In Florida, for instance, gubernatorial candidate, former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, suggested in March that he would have defeated Republican Ron DeSantis if not for a proper vote count.

Gillum conceded his defeat on election night last year. He then retracted his concession before conceding again after a recount showed him more than 30,000 votes behind DeSantis, according to the report.
