A full 89% of likely voters say they are concerned about inflation, according to a new poll by Rasmussen Reports.
And just 9% say they are not very concerned about inflation, while 2% say they are not at all concerned.
The pollster said the numbers show inflation is the issue that voters are most concerned about.
The survey results, released Wednesday, shed light on just how important the economy has become:
- 60% say President Joe Biden's policies have increased inflation, compared to 13% who say his policies have decreased inflation. Only 23% say his policies have not made much difference.
- 84% say they expect inflation to be a key issue in the midterms elections, compared to 13% who say they don't believe it will be important.
- 95% of Republicans say they are concerned with inflation, compared to 82% of Democrats. A robust 89% of independents say they are concerned about inflation.
The poll, conducted Oct. 6-9, surveyed 1,000 likely voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
