The approval rating for President Barack Obama is at its highest level since July 2009, a new Rasmussen tracking poll released Monday reveals.
According to Rasmussen, Obama has an approval rating 54 percent, with just 45 percent of potential voters disapproving of his job performance in the White House.
The last time Obama’s numbers were that high was in July 2009, according to Rasmussen.
Of those numbers, Rasmussen reported, “92 percent of Democrats approve while 86 percent of Republicans disapprove. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 47 percent approve and 49 percent disapprove.
The polling firm also said most voters view the auto industry bailouts “positively until they learn that the federal government will lose money because of them.’’
And, in the days just after the election, American voters are closely divided as to whether the nation’s best days are behind us or still to come, Rasmussen said.
The poll was conducted with 1,500 automated telephone interviews and has a sampling error spread of 3 percent.
