Donald Trump will need to win 50 percent of New York votes to obtain all 95 delegates the state has available, according to a district-level polling provided by Politico.

The survey from Optimus Consulting shows Trump leading in all 27 congressional districts.

According to the poll of likely Republican voters in New York:
  • Trump: 49 percent;
  • Ohio Gov. John Kasich: 23 percent;
  • Texas Sen. Ted Cruz: 13.9 percent;
  • Undecided: 13.9 percent.
The poll pressed those who were undecided to declare a preference:
  • Trump: 17 percent;
  • Kasich: 15 percent;
  • Cruz: 8.6 percent .
Trump's home state has 27 congressional districts, with three delegates in each. New York's delegate rules state the real estate mogul will get all three, but only if he clears 50 percent of the votes.

If he gets a majority, but not 50 percent, Trump will get two delegates and the runner-up will get one.

The poll shows Trump strongest in Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. His poll results show him above 50 percent in five districts, and around 50 percent in 14 others.

Trump is polling weakest, but still in the lead, in several upstate districts, where his numbers are at 40 percent.

Fourteen statewide delegates are also available. Trump gets them all if he reaches the 50-percent mark, but if not, he will split them with Cruz and Kasich proportionately.

Trump's campaign is focusing on making sure he isn't outmaneuvered in New York. "Some of this stuff is going to be real bloody knuckles," said Nick Langworthy, chairman of the Erie County Republican Committee, reports Capital New York.

Ted Cruz did not fare well in the poll results. He came in third in 25 out of the 27 districts.

The phone survey of 14,201 New York Republicans was conducted between April 12-14.
