President Donald Trump should not have called porn star Stormy Daniels “horseface,” House Speaker Paul Ryan said during an interview with “CBS This Morning,” telling the news outlet “there’s no place for that kind of language.”
Ryan made an appearance on the show with fellow Republican Elise Stefanik, who he is campaigning for. Stefanik is the youngest woman ever elected to Congress.
Trump on Tuesday called Daniels “horseface” after a judge dismissed a defamation suit she filed against him. Daniels claimed to have had an affair with Trump, and was suing the president over a tweet he posted in April accusing her of “a total con job.”
"Federal Judge throws out Stormy Danials lawsuit versus Trump. Trump is entitled to full legal fees.” @FoxNews Great, now I can go after Horseface and her 3rd rate lawyer in the Great State of Texas. She will confirm the letter she signed! She knows nothing about me, a total con!” Trump tweeted.
Ryan during his interview also expressed concern of “tribal politics becoming the new norm of how politics is waged.”
“As conservatives, we always thought this was sort of a left-wing...thing. Unfortunately, the right practices identity politics now as well," Ryan told co-host John Dickerson.
When asked whether Trump practices “inclusive politics,” Ryan said: sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn’t.”
