SarahPAC, the political action committee backing Sarah Palin's continued political activities, on Wednesday sent out emails trying to raise money off her endorsement for Donald Trump's presidential campaign, saying it needs donors' "help to fundraise her travel."
"Yesterday was a historic day," said the email, reports
Politico. "After touring the country for her book tour and hearing from thousands of people, Gov
. Palin went all in for Donald Trump."
"SarahPAC plans to continue endorsing anti-establishment candidates who will not play politics as usual," the email goes on. "In order to get Sarah to political events to support endorsed candidates we need your help to fundraise her travel."
On Tuesday, the 2008 vice-presidential candidate and former Alaska governor announced her endorsement during an Ames, Iowa campaign event, following a
day of rumors and speculation, and went on to speak for Trump at an event in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Campaigns usually pay the bills for surrogate endorsers, though, Politico noted, and one of Trump's main campaign points is that he is not accepting money from PACs. He has reached, though, some $3.7 million in "unsolicited donations," a campaign release said, accounting for
more than half of the $5.8 millionthe campaign has brought in.
According to the
Federal Election Commission, SarahPAC had $566,000 in the bank at its last filing in June, and will have its next filing on Jan. 31.
