Ryan to Christie After Packers' Win: 'You Need a Hug Now?'

By    |   Monday, 12 January 2015 07:33 AM EST

After the Green Bay Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys 26-21 on Sunday and pushed them out of the NFC Divisional Playoffs, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin tapped out a taunting tweet aimed at New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, CNN reported.

Ryan, a Packers fan, asked the Dallas supporter:
Ryan was alluding to Christie's joyous — some say awkward — embrace of Dallas team owner Jerry Jones that went viral on Jan. 5 when the Cowboys defeated the Detroit Lions.

Both Ryan and Christie are dyed-in-the-wool American football fans and possible competitors in the quest for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.

Both attended the game at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin, which saw the Packers advance to the NFC Championship game.
