While former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has indicated support for Delaware Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell, the candidate doesn’t see it as an endorsement. Palin wrote in a tweet Tuesday that a conservative radio host said O’Donnell’s “election must be a major focus for us all."
But O’Donnell says that falls short of an endorsement. "No, that's a re-tweet. That's a, ‘You go, girl,’"
she told Politico.
O’Donnell, who is running in the Sept. 14 primary against Rep. Mike Castle, says she hopes to ultimately receive an endorsement from Palin. But she doesn’t view the ex-vice presidential candidate’s support as a be-all or end-all. "I'd like to stand on my own merits. I think that I have my own positions, my own platforms, and I don't want to be categorized. I want people to look at me and what I represent and support me based on that," O'Donnell said.
