Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich heaped praise on President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh Tuesday, telling Fox News' "Fox & Friends" that his credentials and character are so positive that he should be approved by the Senate by the end of September.
"That whole family story it seems to me is going to bear out very, very well," Gingrich said. "And I think almost guarantees that he will be approved by the Senate probably in late September."
The former House speaker said he could not even imagine how the Democrats could cast him as unworthy to be a Supreme Court justice.
"I don't know how they are going to demonize him on the left after introducing his two daughters, talking about the work he does.
"Serving food for Catholic charities. Coaching the girls' basketball team. His background. His mother's remarkable history. Teaching in two schools that were largely African-American, then becoming, as a woman, a real pioneer as a prosecutor."
Gingrich also lauded Trump, saying, "This was the best performance by the president so far. You take the total consultation, the way he has approached it. The quality of his speech last night. Framing it constitutionally. And then, frankly, Judge Kavanaugh just knocked it out of the park."
