David Bossie: Trump's Request for NATO Is Fair, Reasonable

President Donald Trump is only requesting what is reasonable and fair from NATO, Trump's former deputy campaign manager David Bossie told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" on Tuesday.

"This president has been frustrated for a very long time, since before he was president," Bossie said, explaining all he wants in the upcoming meeting with NATO is "to be treated fairly by our allies across the world. That's it. Plain and simple."

Bossie said Trump "is willing to pay whatever the rest of the world is paying for NATO, but no more. And I think that's what he is going to deliver over there this week."

Turning to the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court, Bossie said "there is no reason for him not to be confirmed. The left, even before we knew it was Brett Kavanaugh, was already announcing that . . . they are going to oppose the president's nominee. That is because they hate this president more than they love this country. And that's the problem where we are in our politics today."

Bossie said he did not have any doubts about Kavanaugh's confirmation, saying "I believe this is the most qualified person. You look at Elena Kagan, who had virtually nowhere near the qualifications in 2010. She was nominated in May and confirmed by the Senate 63-37 in August of 2010. Less than 90 days later. This is a process that should work. The Senate should take their jobs."

The president's son Eric Trump was asked about Mexico's President-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's plans to create his own border police force to stop undocumented immigrants from crossing into the country from Central America.

"It's smart for Mexico, and I think it's smart for the United States and smart for human trafficking, for drug trafficking for all the problems that come as a result of some of the illegal immigration that we have," Eric Trump said. "He has been very clear on this. We want the best. We want the brightest. We want immigrants. Hey, I'm the product of an immigrant. My mom came from a different country. His current wife is – you know, came from a different country.

"But they came to the United States legally. And there is a process. And there is a lot of people who deserve to come into this country and make the United States what we are right now."
