Political analyst and prognosticator Nate Silver presented presidential polling information, including figures from battleground states, to a group of Republican donors last week.

Silver, reports The Hill, was one of several speakers to address a session put together by the American Opportunity Alliance. That organization is comprised of some wealthy GOP donors, a list that includes Chicago Cubs owner the Ricketts family and hedgefund billionaire Paul Singer.

Silver, the editor-in-chief of FiveThirtyEight, spoke to more than two dozen donors at a New York City restaurant last Wednesday.

The Hill reports that Silver discussed the battleground states in the current presidential campaign and provided insight and predictions as to what might happen on Nov. 8.

Silver, who picked the winner in 49 out of the nation's 50 states in the 2008 presidential election before going perfect in 2012, kept his presentation fact-based and did not offer advice to the donors.

Two weeks ago, Silver said that based on his polling methods, the election is currently too close to call. The swing states, he said, are too up in the air for him to make an accurate prediction.

"Although it's plausible that Clinton's superior field operation will eventually pay dividends, so far her swing state results have ebbed and flowed with her national numbers," Silver wrote.

At the end of June, Silver said Clinton's chances of winning the election were at 79 percent.
