President Donald Trump's 2020 campaign is capitalizing on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's, D-Calif., partisan display of ripping up his State of the Union address, hoping it'll spur individual donations from his supporters.
The Trump Make America Great Again Committee emailed a slam against Pelosi's "temper tantrum" and "The Do Nothing Democrats," who are described as "furious" with the president's "winning" and keeping his promises.
"Nancy Pelosi has lost her mind," the email signed by Trump read. "Last night was a great and triumphant evening for our Country. While I gave a perfect State of the Union Address, Nancy threw a temper tantrum and ripped up the copy of the speech I gave her. She truly hates America."
The email included a GIF of Pelosi ripping up the speech.
"The Do Nothing Democrats are furious that, unlike previous presidents, I've kept my promises to the American People and now America is WINNING like never before," the email continued.
"Nancy's actions were an absolute disgrace and she is everything that is wrong with the Washington Swamp. When I ran for president, I told you I would DRAIN THE SWAMP, and that is exactly what I plan on doing, starting with Nancy.
"There's no better way to show her just how much Americans have REJECTED her than by fundraising off her little stunt, which is why I want to raise another TWO MILLION DOLLARS in the NEXT 24 HOURS.
"Crushing Nancy and her liberal dreams is absolutely paramount, so I'm really counting on YOU stepping up."
The Trump Make America Great Again Committee has raised campaign funds for Trump and the Republican National Committee.
Pelosi has earned the president's ire for many reasons, and not just for her display during his State of the Union, where he appeared not to accept an extended hand from the House speaker prior to his address.
She also spearheaded the House investigation that resulted in two articles of impeachment against Trump over his interactions with Ukraine. The Senate acquitted Trump on Wednesday, with only one Republican, Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, voting to convict him of abusing the office of the presidency.
