Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is No. 1 on the "top-10" list of most unpopular members of the upper chamber, with Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, a close second, according to a new poll.
The Morning Consult survey shows McConnell with a 50% job disapproval rating. Collins weighs in with a 48% disapproval rating.
The rest of the top-10 least popular are:
- Sens. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., and Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., both at 42% disapproval.
- Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., 41% disapproval.
- Sens. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Jon Tester, D-Mont., 40% disapproval rating.
- Sens. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, rounding out the bottom 10 at 39% disapproval.
On the opposite end, Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., both have a 62% job approval rating, but Sanders had a slightly higher disapproval rating of 32%, which served as a tie-breaker.
Sen. King's disapproval rating is 28%.
In third place, Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., has a 61% approval rating.
The rest of the popular field show:
- Sens. John Hoeven, R-N.D., and John Barrasso, R-Wyo., both with a 57% approval.
- Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., 56%.
- Sens. Michael Enz, R-Wyo., John Thune, R-S.D., and Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., each have a 54% approval
- And Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., is No. 10 with 53% approval.
The poll's margin of error varied by senator, ranging from 1-10 percentage points.
